We plan a two days hands-on workshop with talks in the morning and hand-on sessions in the afternoon. The talks will be practical oriented. The workshop will cover - YARP and the Kinematics filter - YARP and the Python/Pybrain interface - Vision modules, opencv and world model

USFD: Focussed Workshop on Action Learning (Sheffield, United Kingdom, from nov 18, 2010 12:00 to nov 19, 2010 12:00 )

This workshop involved people from Sheffield (USFD) and Rome (CNR-ISTC-LOCEN) and focused on experimental and computational aspects of action representation, cumulative learning, and intrinsic motivation; and implementation-level discussions of the models both groups are using.

UU: Focussed Workshop on Visual Perception and Novelty Detection (Intelligent Systems Research Centre, Univeristy of Ulster, Magee Campus, Northland Road, Londonderry, Northern Ireland, BT48 7JL, from nov 09, 2010 09:00 to nov 10, 2010 05:30 )

Aims of the workshop are: To elaborate on the various approaches to novelty detection, and; To clarify collaboration and potential overlap and to establish a clear, well-defined way forward with respect to this topic in I'm Clever. Clearly there are also linkages into the visual and hierarchical architectures work, and while these may be discussed, the main focus of the workshop is on novelty detection and knowledge representation.

Meeting focussing on the architecture blueprints for CLEVER-B and CLEVER-K and consequently on the intendification of areas for integration and collaboration.

CNR: IM-CLeVeR International Workshop (Venice, Italy, from nov 15, 2009 08:30 to nov 17, 2009 06:30 )

IM-CLeVeR International Workshop will be held in Venice on November 15-17 2009. The workshop will be preceded, at the same venue, by EpiRob09 and is free of charge for EpiRob09 attendees. The Workshop will be on intrinsic motivations and abstraction supporting cumulative learning in children, adult humans, monkeys, and robots (see agenda below). The workshop will be wholly based on keynote speeches from outstanding researchers (see list and links to abstracts below). The event is planned to be a milestone event in the field of intrinsic motivations and cumulative learning.
